CALL FOR ARTISTS

to Imagine Montreal in the Year 2140

What will Montreal look like in the year 2140? What positive changes do you want to see for our city in the next 117 years? To accompany and illustrate the McGill University Bieler School of Environment Conference “Montreal 2140: Hopeful Futures in Science and Storytelling” (October 12-13, 2023), and inspired by the science fiction novel New York 2140 (by our keynote speaker Kim Stanley Robinson), we are organizing a call for artists to imagine what the city of Montreal could look like in 2140.

Use your imagination to depict and represent the city you would like to see Montreal become by 2140. Send us your positive, optimistic, and utopian visions for Montreal 2140!

6 winning artists/writers will be awarded a prize of $1000 each for their works.

Please send your submissions before September 25th to montreal2140@gmail.com, including your name, photo, location, weblinks, and a 50-70 word bio. Contest limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
